Had a great week of poker – won a $3.5 rebuy 180man, and got two 2nd’s as well as a ton of other deep runs in mtts. I had one heartbreaker getting 10th in a $9.90 final table only paid, losing with 33 vs A9 all in preflop. I was unfortunately carddead and getting no decent spots and also in 10th place chips with the 9th place guy having a 4 more big blinds than me so I had to push 33 in the cutoff and hope to grab the blinds. The chipleader who was on a heater called me and hit so I was out in the worst spot possible. I didn’t sweat it too much and continued to grind.

My small sample of $3.5r180s (only ~100 games) and I’m up about $8/game. I expect that to drop to about $5-6/game long term. Again my strategy I feel is vastly different from most of the regs, and I also never play the games if I see X number of regs already registered. I prefer to play when the field is stacked with unknowns or fish. There’s no point in playing a tournament where you have an edge of only +$1/game unless the rake is high. There are much better spots.

Besides poker I am applying for IT jobs and working on IT certifications. I am about 1/7th of the way through the A+ certification book. So far it’s been super easy for me, but I am also learning a few nifty things as well. By the end of the year I’m hoping to have both an A+ and network+ certification.

Binked 1st in a $5 PLO8 tourney, 1st in a 2/180, 1st in a small HOSE tourney, and 3rd in a 2/180 after some bad luck. Still have not ran well enough in any 3r180s or 8/180s to win one. Hopefully soon.

got 4th/1705 in a $5 hyper turbo for and 3rd in a 3r180. Nice day so far, gonna grind a bit later tonight.

Not much going on, I get deep in tournaments and finish 3rd-20th over and over again. Ev way below expectation every day. Today I played a short session of $8/180s and $3r180s. I made some profit, but I think i had 5 final tables and 3 other cashes, but I always ran bad at the final tables. Either I went carddead or I just lost totally standard coinflips. I finished 5th, 7th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 12th, 16th.

225k chips under ev. Ev bb/100 = 17.03. Actually bb/100 = 1.71 today

Can’t believe the day I had. Either I was incredibly carddead, or I took bad beats. I lost about 100 flips in a row in the omaha hyper turbos. I played the razz tcoop and ran like absolute shit but almost min-cashed because the players were so god awful. There were several hands were I had the best hand showing and a player was raising me, with only about a 30% chance to hit and got there. Then of course I get no playable hands and missed 3 or 40-50%’s in a row to bust. I played some other random tourneys like the $16.50 hose and bubbled, the $22 O8 and bubbled because I never got dealt a hand while two ultra-mega-degen fish played 80% of their hands and always won.

decided to grind a few hyper turbos so I could get to goldstar by the end of the month. Ended up running really well. overall a great day.

Somehow won today even though I ran like crap. Bubbled or min/cashed in virtually everything. Bubbled the stud hi/lo tcoop because some swedish guy decided to reraise Q55 preflop as if that’s a great stud hi/lo starting hand.

Got a small win today 3rd in the $11 turbo PLO final table only paid. I went out on a hand where I had 70% equity and only 16% chance to lose for the chip lead. Pretty frustrating beat but I did get lucky cracking AAxx at one point near the money.

Played a few other omaha games and got deep but the cards turned ugly. I think I flopped top set 3 or 4 times today, got the chips in on the turn for a big pot and my opponents rivered their draw each time. Strangely I always had top set with KK and lost.

might play a bit later tonight. Time to hit the gym.

played another session, went deep in a lot of games and cashed in a bunch. I found a few good late night tourneys with a lot of fish.

I was doing fairly well at the beginning of the day, but then ran into a huge stretch of coolers.

I played some $7 HU hyper turbos and after the session I had I might just give up on that form of poker. It seemed like virtually every hand I had was second best, and every time I shoved a standard hand my opponents would call me and have me dominated. I got coolered a ton, flopping top pair, top 2 pair, etc and losing to a better hand over and over again. Then to cap it off, when I did get all in pre and have the advantage my opponents kept hitting their 30-45%’s over and over and over again. I’m still up about $57 over 125 games, but after this last session I’m probably just going to play these only once in a while if I feel like it. Grinding them just seems way too mind-numbing. I don’t even really enjoy the players in them either. Most of the guys are super spazz-aggressive which makes the variance that much higher.

not much happened today, got deep in some tourneys and ran bad. Lost two 80%’s in a row in the sunday storm to bust. Lost AA to K6 all in pre in a $1r turbo down to 40 players for a huge pot.
