March graph and results
by Adam on Mar.30, 2010, under poker
It looks like I will end up roughly at +7500 for March. Definitely a good month for me overall. I had a lot of small tournament wins for $500 to $1000.
My tournament leaderboard ranking on pokerstars ended around 600th. I’m also ranked ~1400th out of 242,000 on official poker rankings now: http://www.officialpokerrankings.com/pokerstars/NuklearWintr/poker/results/3F93BBE388E24B2A9AF4B9E6142FD64F.html?t=2
Here is my March graph:

won a 12/180 today, taking lots of beats lately, SCOOP
by Adam on Mar.24, 2010, under poker
Today I won a $12/180 when I came back from just 19k chips 3 handed to win (total 300k chips in play). I got super unlucky in several hands to get down to 19k, then incredibly lucky to come back and I also got super lucky heads up to win. It seemed like I was due after taking a disgusting amount of bad beats lately. I’ve lost a ton of 80%-90%’s so I feel like it was variance just evening out for me. I’m still up about the same for the month… ~5200. I think the next few days will go well for me, and I will end the month at least +6k.
The Pokerstars spring championship of online poker, aka SCOOP Poker Tournament starts May 2nd. I’m looking forward to this poker series for a few reasons. 1. I actually have the bankroll to play, and 2. They have a ton of low buy in tournaments $20-$50 that will be filled with weak players taking a shot. The tournaments will all have high guaranteed prizes. Pokerstars is the best.
won a few tourneys today
by Adam on Mar.17, 2010, under poker
Today I won a $3 rebuy 180man and a $7.70 180man for nice scores. I also finished 7th in an $11 pot limit omaha tournament for ~$200. Overall I made a little over $750 today.
Here is my mid-month graph for March. I did not play for 4 days this month, so for 13 days of play, I’m very happy with my results.

did ok today
by Adam on Mar.14, 2010, under poker
finished 1044th in the sunday million for $387 ($172 profit) and cashed/got deep in a few other games. Last night I got 3rd/63 in a turbo HORSE mtt for $150ish so not a bad Saturday night/ Sunday.
I probably screwed up in the million, but I ran pretty awful after getting up to 140k. I lost TT to KJo (57%), then A9o to KTs (54%), then KJs to AJs (30%) when the flop gave me 87% to win, then A9o to KK and 77 (25%). The last hand was a weird one where I had 45k and raised to 9400 and the small blind went all in for 19,000. The big blind just flat called and I had to call ~10k more with 50k in the pot. My odds suggested I only needed 16% equity to continue even though the big blind obviously had me beat due to his suspicious flat call. I put him on AQ, AK, or a pair TT or better, with higher weight towards KK, AK, and AA. AA was more unlikely due to the ace in my hand. Therefore I felt vs this range I should call the 10k more and leave myself 34k to possibly fold if the flop doesn’t help me.
The flop was 9-7-2 with no flush draw. The big blind led 16k and there was now 76k in the pot and I had 34k left. Basically at this point I have ~20% if he has a pair tens or better. However I felt the player could be making this play with 88 or AK, and decided to stack off and go all in. It was a frustrating hand because even though I had a strong feeling I was behind, folding at any point after I made the initial raise would have been a mathematical error. Many players would have shoved all in preflop in my situation since I started with only 11.25 big blinds and had A9 offsuit in the hijack position. Open folding preflop is too weak in my opinion. I raised here to hopefully take down the pot preflop, or be able to fold if anyone but the short stack went all in preflop.
up 3k in the last week so it’s all good.
won another Omaha tournament today for $770
by Adam on Mar.13, 2010, under poker
I have been playing great and running very very well in omaha tournaments. Today I won a $22 tournament which had a very tough final table filled with winning players. I managed to win a few coinflip type hands and continued to run good to knock out the last 4 players.
So far up ~$3700 this month and I didn’t play much the first week due to feeling crappy and also going to Chicago.
