horrible tuesday
by Adam on Nov.04, 2009, under poker
Well, I took a shot at some $87.72 hyper turbos and ran $1100 under expected value. So I lost a lot of my winnings due to bad luck. I’m not sure that hold em manager computes EV correctly, however I haven’t been able to get this program called SNG Luck Analyzer to work yet because the hand history conversion doesn’t work.
It was also turbo night on pokerstars and I went deep in just about every tournament but couldn’t seem to get any hands to hold up late in tournaments. I made some poor plays as well which contributed to the awful day. I’m going to have to rebuild by playing $12 45 and 180mans over the next few weeks. Then I’m going to play more $10 freeze out tourneys since I have historically done very well in them.
My confidence certainly took a hit and I felt a little depressed yesterday. However, today I have gotten a few things done and I’m going to take a short break from poker and refocus on my website and other things I’ve been meaning to get accomplished. Poker can wait until I have the time and can get in the zone. I definitely wasn’t playing my A game yesterday which coupled with bad luck is never a good situation. I probably tilt called or spite called (for no reason) in a few spots that cost me money yesterday. I realize this now but at the time I just thought I was unlucky. I’m going to have to go back and reread “the poker mindset”.
decent few days
by Adam on Nov.02, 2009, under poker
The past few days have gone well on pokerstars. I finished 2nd in 180man for $396 – heads up I lost KQ to Q7 for all the chips. Then sucked out A8 > KK. Then lost A4 to A3 for 80% of the chips… so needless to say I wasn’t happy missing out on the extra $200 for 1st.
I have also started dabbling in the hyper turbos again. I played a bunch of $22.44’s and $44.88’s with good success. I ran bad at the $22.44’s as usual, but did well enough in the $44.88’s to get my bankroll up over $3,000 now.
I only had a chance to play for a few hours this weekend because of the Halloween festivities so hopefully this month I will be able to get in at least 30 hours of play each week.
For smart poker training, there have been a few sales lately and some more interest in making videos from coaches. I think it will still be a few more months until the site really takes off though. I’m happy with the progress since it launched in August.
